Fernways School opens

D-10 Architects have completed the conversion of a pre-school nursery in Windlesham into a school specialising in assisting children with autism and associated learning needs. The project involved rationalising the plan of the much altered Victorian building with new circulation routes for the ground floor and accessible staircase to the first floor. A redundant swimming pool was converted and extended to provide new KS2 classrooms, break out space and sensory room. The neglected exterior envelope of the building was upgraded and insulation standards improved. The school opened the doors to it’s first pupils in September 2021.
